Deaths and fire related injuries constitute a major public health problem in the United States says the American Bar association and 8 national health professional organizations. They recommend background checks, protecting a physician's right to discuss gun ownership with their patients, improving mental health resources, banning assault weapons, and increasing research on the causes and consequences of firearm violence and unintentional injuries. if all these groups agree, there's got to be something to it. Let's hope American politicians start listening.
